The MANDATORY meeting for any student interested in trying out for the Colorguard or Cougarette has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.  Please remember that it is MANDATORY that one of your parents is in attendance at this meeting or you will not be allowed to participate in tryouts.

The concert and symphonic bands need to be in the high school band room at 12:00 noon on Dec. 10th to change into their uniforms.  The Concert Band will warmup in the band room at 12:15PM and will perform at 1:00PM in the CCHS auditorium.  The Symphonic Band will perform at 2:00PM.  The Clay Christmas Parade begins at 3:00PM.

Due to the weather, the Cougar Celebration will be held in the CCHS Gym. Band students are to arrive at CCHS at 5:30PM wearing blue jeans and their band t-shirt. The celebration will begin at 6:00PM. Because of the weather, the band will not rehearse after school.

As you know, the Clay-Chalkville Band’s Winter Festival will be on Saturday, December 10th, 2011.  The application for vendors is now available on this website on the Winter Festival page.  Parents, please help get the word out to potential vendors.  You can do this by word-of-mouth or simply by forwarding this email reminder to a vendor that you know. 

We want to make this year’s Winter Festival a huge success, and we need your help getting the word out.  By posting the application on this website, we can only reach those who have signed up to receive the email reminders.  We need your help spreading the word outside of our circle of subscribers.

This is to remind you of the high school band’s Fall concert on Tuesday, November 8th.  The performance will begin at 7:00PM in the high school auditorium.  Both the concert band and symphonic band will perform.

The concert band should be on stage, in complete uniform, ready to warmup at 6:15PM.  The symphonic band should be in the band room also at 6:15PM.  This is a required performance for all band members, and counts for a performance grade.

Also, there are several members in the concert band who need to be assigned a band uniform.  These are members who did not march due to football, volleyball, or cheerleading.  We need a couple of parent volunteers who can come from 8:30am-9:30am this Thursday and Friday to help get these students a uniform.  Please contact Mr. Williams (680-9353) if you can help with this.

Students will need to bring money with them so they can eat at the concession stand when we arrive.  Spain Park is going to have two combos for the band students and chaperones.  Options are:

Zaxby’s Chicken Sandwich, Chips, and Drink, $5.00
or
Hotdog, Chips, and Drink, $4.00

Reminder: The Spain Park game is on Thursday (10/27), not Friday.  Here is a link to the itinerary.  Students should be reminded that they will need to bring everything they need for the game (e.g. band shoes/black socks) with them to school Thursday morning, as there will be no opportunity go home after school.
